The Japandi Collection
A quiet gathering of stained glass cranes inspired by natural wood, softened earth tones, simple forms, and the changing beauty of sunlight.
The collection brings together Japanese-influenced restraint and Scandinavian warmth through five carefully chosen glass colors: smoky Stone, earthy Shiitake, delicate Blush, muted Olive Grove, and luminous Crystal Clear. Each shade was selected to feel calm, organic, and easy to live with, whether displayed alone or arranged as a softly staggered flock.
In Japanese culture, the origami crane is a meaningful symbol of hope, peace, longevity, happiness, and good fortune. It is often given to mark important moments, new beginnings, weddings, anniversaries, healing, and wishes for a long and joyful life. Reimagined in stained glass, the crane becomes both a sculptural object and a small bearer of light.
Each piece is individually cut, foiled, soldered, and finished by hand in my Greenville, South Carolina studio. The dimensional origami-inspired form allows sunlight to pass through the glass from several angles, creating shifting shadows, delicate reflections, and subtle pools of color as the light changes throughout the day.
Hang a single crane near a favorite window for a quiet sculptural accent, pair two together, or create a peaceful flock at varying heights. Their simple silhouettes and natural palette work beautifully in Japandi, minimalist, Scandinavian, modern, and nature-inspired interiors.
Because every crane is handmade, slight variations in the glass texture, solder lines, and finish are part of its character. No two are exactly alike.
